The new ZSK Mv¹⁴ sets new benchmarks in compounding applications with high screw volume requirements. We have increased the specific torque of this twin screw extruder to 14 Nm/cm³, representing a 24% increase over the previous ZSK Mv PLUS. The result: the high-volume ZSK Mv¹⁴ achieves significantly higher throughput rates. In addition, it offers greater flexibility for processing demanding formulations, ensures even gentler product handling, and delivers outstanding product quality.
The introduction of the new ZSK 140 Mv¹⁴ expands both the application and performance spectrum of the series, adding a larger machine size for even higher throughput requirements.
More Performance for a Broad Range of Applications
The ZSK Mv¹⁴ series is distinguished by its exceptionally large free screw volume, featuring a Do/Di ratio of 1.8. This screw diameter ratio (outer to inner screw diameter) is ideally suited for extrusion applications with high volume requirements, such as processing materials with low bulk density, poor feed characteristics, or high levels of additives and fillers.
With the specific torque now increased to 14 Nm/cm³, these products can be processed significantly more efficiently than before. Compared to its predecessor, the ZSK Mv PLUS, the new ZSK Mv¹⁴ delivers throughput increases of up to 24%, without compromising process reliability.
At the same time, the ZSK Mv¹⁴ stands out for its exceptionally gentle product handling. Thanks to its large free screw volume, both the average shear forces and the thermal stress on the melt are significantly reduced. The result is consistently outstanding product quality.
This makes the new ZSK Mv¹⁴ the ideal solution for applications such as:
• Recycling of plastic flakes, fibers, and regrind materials
• Compounds with high additive loadings, such as flame retardants or mineral fillers
• Lightweight compounds containing hollow glass microspheres
• Masterbatches with high pigment or additive concentrations
• Biopolymers and other shear- or temperature-sensitive materials
• Reactive extrusion processes requiring long residence times at low shear rates
