Small production lots are often accompanied by numerous recipe changes and frequent modifications to the extrusion line. The faster these changes to other recipes or colors can be made, the more economically the system can be operated.
For this reason, we have developed a quick-release screw shaft coupling for ZSK 26 Mc18 twin screw extruders with 25 mm screw diameter, which enables screw changes in the shortest possible time. By simply releasing a locking device, the screw shafts can be easily loosened, pulled, exchanged and locked again. Screw changes for cleaning purposes or recipe changes are thus carried out in the shortest possible time. Set-up times are reduced to a minimum. The efficiency of the whole system increases significantly.
The quick-release coupling for the screw shafts of the ZSK 26 Mc18 has now been patented.
