Unlock remote maintenance services for Coperion’s extruders, material handling, feeding systems and entire compounding lines with the gateway ServiceBox CSB 4.0. These services help ensure seamless operation of both your compounding lines and extruders as well as material conveyors and their associated components. The ServiceBox CSB 4.0 hardware is designed for quick retrofit on all existing Coperion machines, as the key pillar for the secure, dedicated, two-tier IT architecture.

Furthermore, Coperion’s new ServiceBox CSB 4.0 gives you access to the C-BEYOND 4.0 platform with its value-adding services and powerful optimization features including Downtime Tracking, Maintenance Manager, Sustain App and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) monitoring. Thereby, the gateway also serves as the foundation for implementing additional smart tools from Coperion in the future that focus on the optimization of production processes or on increasing energy efficiency.

Security and enhanced remote service capabilities

The Coperion ServiceBox CSB 4.0 is the ideal solution for monitoring compounding production lines online and detecting malfunctions, almost in real time. This results in seamless compounding processes, maximum profitability, and consistently high product quality.

The ServiceBox CSB 4.0 allows Coperion service experts to:

1. Assist with initial system setup

2. Perform remote diagnostics

3. Advise on system optimization

Error messages can be automatically forwarded to Coperion to ensure fast remote diagnostics. Secure remote support significantly reduces the need for cost-intensive routine onsite service calls, such as software updates. For the first time, the operator can separately activate each Coperion system independently for remote servicing with the ServiceBox CSB 4.0.

Hardware concept

The ServiceBox CSB 4.0 can be retrofitted quickly, and is easily added to existing Coperion machines. It seamlessly connects not only single extruders, but the entire product line to the digital services platform C-BEYOND. The diagram shows the general configuration.

C-BEYOND's secure IT architecture

C-BEYOND's IT architecture has two lines of defence

To link an existing compounding line to the C-BEYOND platform for remote services, a CSB 4.0 red box is installed on each machine. New Coperion machines are equipped with the CSB 4.0 red box, whereas older machines require modernization. Previous CSB versions can be effortlessly replaced with new ones and easily integrated into the C-BEYOND productivity network.

All CSB 4.0 red boxes communicate with a central CSB 4.0 green box, which serves as the sole gateway to Coperion’s web-based C-BEYOND platform.

Secure operations are safeguarded through multiple lines of defense

Secure Connection
The CSB4.0 red box only makes connections to listed C-BEYOND destinations and will not respond to any inbound connection attempts. As a result, all connections between the red boxes and the green box occur within an isolated network, ensuring maximum data security.

Encryption
The communication channels between the CSB 4.0 green box and its destination is always encrypted and prevents third parties from intercepting data.

Highly secure C-BEYOND Private Cloud
CSB4.0 red and green boxes are in constant contact with the C-BEYOND private cloud and are automatically updated with the latest security features.

Based on Linux
The CSB4.0 is an embedded Linux device built on a hardened Linux kernel. This enables C-BEYOND users to benefit from a broad professional community of security experts who maintain constant vigilance for emerging threats.

The set-up is certified yearly according to ISO 27001:2013.
