This presentation highlights the approach to different solutions for recycling plastics. The aim should be to minimize the landfill and incineration of plastics for energy generation and, if possible, to return the materials to the cycle in their original properties as far as possible. However, as this is not so easy in many cases, especially in the area of post-consumer material, the different approaches are discussed here so that even heavily contaminated plastic mixes can be returned to the process cycle as good feedstock material. In all cases, our equipment consisting of specially designed silos, smart materials handling and feeding devices and twin-screw extruders can be used to provide good quality material.
