Bulk Solids Innovation Center in Salina, USA

Successful Opening in June 2015

The new Kansas State University Bulk Solids Innovation Center in Salina, Kansas, has officially opened its doors: On June 24, 2015 the successfull opening of the Innovation Center took place in the presence of more than 130 official guests. Since then, there were held some impressive test in these new facilities.

The Bulk Solids Innovation Center (two-story 13,000 ft² / 1,208 m² building) has been built adjacent to the Coperion K-Tron Salina office. The Kansas State University, several government agencies and private companies, as Coperion K-Tron, will use it to study and develop the understanding of bulk solids materials handling, in turn enhancing the businesses that use these materials or manufacture the systems that convey, store and dispense them. This university-level research center is the only one of its kind in North America and will serve as the new home of the Materials Handling Test Lab for Coperion and Coperion K-Tron in the Americas.

History of bulk solids handling in Salina

Salina, Kansas has a tremendous history of bulk solids handling dating back as far as 1942.
The timeline demonstrates Coperion K-Tron's history and contribution to bulk solids handling. The company originally started in 1950 as Salina Manufacturing, then in 1978 become Premier Pneumatics, in 2006 was purchased by K-Tron and today, Coperion K-Tron.
