VMI mixing solutions now available for trial at Coperion's new MicroLab in the USA
VMI, a provider of mixing solutions for the cosmetics and healthcare industries, is excited to announce that its mixing technology is now available for trial at Coperion's US-based test center in Sewell, NJ, which also features advanced equipment from Coperion K-Tron and DIOSNA.
The laboratory is equipped with a laboratory mixer, a vacuum mixer, and a pilot homogenizer, with a production capacity ranging from 200 ml [7 oz] to 10 dm3 [2.6 gal]. The available equipment covers various mixing processes and ensures easy scale-up of formulations and mixing parameters for large-scale production.
As a manufacturer of mixing solutions, VMI offers a diverse range of mixers spanning from classic agitation processes to complex systems combining multiple mechanical effects. Their solutions cover all types of production capacities (laboratories, pilot units, complete systems and turnkey solutions up to 20,000 liters [5,300 gallons] and integrate technologies like automation, vacuum, or thermal regulation to optimize the manufacture of liquid and semi-solid products such as skincare, makeup, mascara, lipstick, hair care products and more.

VMI's new laboratory offers more than just a showcase for products; it is an environment where manufacturers can conduct tests using their own ingredients to identify optimal equipment and processes. Additionally, they can receive training and process support to scale up their production. The new laboratory is located at Coperion’s facility in Sewell, NJ, which also features a comprehensive compounding, extrusion, and feeding test center. Together with customers, Coperion experts conduct tests with process materials to answer critical process questions and determine the best configuration of the required equipment.
The facility also contains Coperion K-Tron’s microfeeder for pharma low rate feeding as well as DIOSNA’s high shear lab granulator and lab-size fluid bed dryer.
