Extrusion 2021

Developed by veteran editors of Plastics Technology, Extrusion 2021 is a two-and-a-half day conference consisting of sessions devoted to technical and business issues common to all types of extrusion, followed by breakout sessions devoted to specific types of extrusion. These presentations, together with the exhibits area at Extrusion 2021, give attendees unprecedented access to new technology, tips and techniques, and best practices aimed at helping attendees boost efficiencies at their operations.

Presentations

  • Sep 21 at 2 PM: How to Ensure Reliable Feeder Performance When Handling Recycled Plastics

This presentation will address the various forms of recycled plastics that exist and key considerations that a user may need to address using a bulk solids feeder to reprocess these materials. Presentation is suited for engineers, purchasers and plant managers who are looking to understand how their current equipment may be adapted to improve and maintain overall product quality, increase yields and minimize downtime to meet current and future processing needs.

  • Sep 22 at 3:30 PM: Historical Perspective of the ZSK Twin Screw Extruder with a view to the Compounding line of 2030

Since 1957 the intermeshing co-rotating twin-screw extruder has been on the market and within the last decades this system has been modified with ever increasing torques, screw speeds, optimized materials and changing geometries, but the technology itself has always remained unchanged. The question that now arises - have the designers reached the end of the road, what optimization possibilities are still available to make the machines more efficient.
